"Multiple Scientific Studies Confirm: Extreme Conservatism Linked to Racism, Low I.Q."
"An article published at Psychology Today by Goal Auzeen Saedi, Ph.D. of Millennial Media writes about the correlation between far right-wing conservatism, low intelligence and racism.
Saedi writes,
"Hodson and Busseri (2012) found in a correlational study that lower intelligence in childhood is predictive of greater racism in adulthood, with this effect being mediated (partially explained) through conservative ideology. They also found poor abstract reasoning skills were related to homophobic attitudes which was mediated through authoritarianism and low levels of intergroup contact."We checked the study Hodson and Busseri study, and the abstract certainly does say,
"Despite their important implications for interpersonal behaviors and relations, cognitive abilities have been largely ignored as explanations of prejudice. We proposed and tested mediation models in which lower cognitive ability predicts greater prejudice, an effect mediated through the endorsement of right-wing ideologies (social conservatism, right-wing authoritarianism) and low levels of contact with out-groups. In an analysis of two large-scale, nationally representative United Kingdom data sets (N = 15,874), we found that lower general intelligence (g) in childhood predicts greater racism in adulthood, and this effect was largely mediated via conservative ideology. A secondary analysis of a U.S. data set confirmed a predictive effect of poor abstract-reasoning skills on antihomosexual prejudice, a relation partially mediated by both authoritarianism and low levels of intergroup contact. All analyses controlled for education and socioeconomic status. Our results suggest that cognitive abilities play a critical, albeit underappreciated, role in prejudice. Consequently, we recommend a heightened focus on cognitive ability in research on prejudice and a better integration of cognitive ability into prejudice models."

We posted the following post a little over a year ago, figuring the Stupid Conservative Signs would stop -- or at least slow down.
"For those keeping track of the Stupid Conservative Signs we've posted, 'Stupid Conservative Signs' (http://www.criminalizeconservatism.com/2013/04/stupid-conservative-signs.html), 'More Stupid Conservative Signs' (http://www.criminalizeconservatism.com/2013/05/more-stupid-conservative-signs.html), 'Positively The Last Time We Show Stupid Conservative Signs...' (http://www.criminalizeconservatism.com/2013/05/positively-last-time-we-show-stupid-conservative-signs.html), 'Ohmigod, Even MORE Stupid Conservative Signs' (http://www.criminalizeconservatism.com/2013/05/omidgod-even-more-stupid-conservative-signs.html), 'Stupid Conservative Signs, Finale' (http://www.criminalizeconservatism.com/2013/05/stupid-conservative-signs-finale.html), and 'Positively the LAST Stupid Conservative Signs' (http://www.criminalizeconservatism.com/2013/05/stupid-conservative-signs.html).
"So of course, there's more. Even when we thought the Sheeplets had exhausted their misspellings, grammatical crimes, and overall stupidity, we've come up with even more Stupid Conservative Signs while idly looking at various pages in the last few months.
"At this rate, we'll be publishing a book within a year..."
And even though we were wrong about the book, we found even more signs, and here they are:

We have to bring this to a close even though we've got at least 30-40 more signs...there's only so much stupidity in the Conservative world we can stand.

"The pill that cures stupidity."
"According to the German newspaper Bild, Hans-Hilger Ropers, director at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin, has tested a pill that eliminates hyperactivity in certain brain nerve cells, thereby stabilizing short-term memory and improving attentiveness.
"'With mice and fruit flies, we were able to eliminate the loss of short-term memory,' the scientist said..."
We really can't cure meanness nor can wecure stupidity...yet.
And we can't eliminate stupid, mean Conservatives without criminalizing Conservatism and looking for a cure from the neuroscientists.
Surely a few billion dollars in research funding can either find a cure for stupidity in vitrio, or at least we can do something about those that are genetically stupid...can't we?
Criminalizing Conservatism will at least take the Morans off the streets and put them to work cleaning our public restrooms and sewer systems where they will feel right at home.
