Barry Goldwater's acceptance speech in 1964 included the now-famous quote, "I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue," and it was repeated nonstop by the Dems throughout the rest of the campaign - leading to one of the worst presidential losses in history...because Americans knew back then how easy it was for extremist elements to take over a country.
We agree that the line between moderation and extremism is pretty thin for the Low Information Voter...

Political scientists dissected the results of the 1964 Election and decided Goldwater's loss was an example of their long-held theory that Americans would reject extremists when voting.
This didn't faze the Cons of course, and since the Reagan rule we've witnessed the relentless capture of the American polity by extremists - all members of the Conservative crime cartel that operates under the banner of the "Conservative movement."
Crime cartels are usually busted for their crimes, but few Cons have faced prison time for their crimes of killing Americans of even theft - the kind that occurs when Republicans suppress or miscount the vote.
